Security & Resilience
Power Is the Real Target
4 June 2026
Most home security quietly assumes the electricity stays on. Cameras, recorders, network hubs and the mains feed to the alarm all rest on that single assumption. Pull the supply, and the assumption collapses. The lights go out, the local network drops, and the devices you trusted to watch your villa fall silent one by one. Nothing has been hacked. It is simply the first thing an organised crew considers before they approach the door.
The Patience of a Methodical Crew
In 2024, police Operation Western dismantled a gang that had robbed at least seventy-one homes across Marbella, Estepona, Malaga and Torremolinos. They preferred houses next to golf courses for cover from CCTV, did exhaustive research on each target, and struck between seven and ten in the evening while owners were out. Six arrests followed. In January 2026, the Guardia Civil in Mijas broke up another group that had surveilled wealthy residents across Marbella and Mijas, then entered wearing latex masks and fake hair to take cash and luxury watches worth more than eighty thousand euros. Five were arrested and eleven investigated.
These were not opportunists. They studied routines, selected precise windows of opportunity, and understood the layout and approach to their targets in detail. A team with that level of patience will also notice a meter box, an external isolator, or any supply point they can reach. Cutting what they can reach before they ever touch the building is the obvious opening move, not a clever trick. They do not need to outwit your technology if they can simply wait for the small batteries inside it to expire.
The Honest Limit of the Front Line
A monitored alarm from a reputable provider remains the right front line. Most carry a small internal battery designed to bridge a brief flicker or a short blackout. That is entirely sensible for ordinary power instability on the coast. It is not, however, a reserve built for a deliberate, sustained outage aimed at your property. A short backup assumes the grid returns within minutes. A prepared intruder assumes it will not.
The Independent Core
The answer is survival, not immunity. No path is unbreakable, and no alert is guaranteed to get through, but a properly engineered independent power core removes the obvious target. It is sized for a real outage, not a flicker, and it keeps the connection, the cameras and the on-site intelligence running while the house around it is dark. Each camera carries its own power and raises its own alarm, so there is no single supply to pull. If one path is lost, another is engineered to find a way out.
No single cut ever buys silence. Each part keeps detecting, recording and alarming on its own.
What This Layer Is For
This protects your property and preserves evidence for investigators after the event. It is not a personal-safety system for an armed home invasion while you are inside. It is an independent layer that sits on top of your monitored alarm, strengthening the parts most vulnerable when the lights go out. We recommend you keep, or install, a monitored alarm from a reputable provider as your front line, then let us build the hard-to-reach power and communications layer above it.
